This was a bright and breezy day of a northerly outbreak of air, with gusty conditions just after a trough had passed. Sets of 'billows' (wind-formed waves) are produced by the wind which blows intermittently at right angles to the river flow. In places at the top of the picture, there is some 'interference' of the billow wave-trains.
