1965-1966 Meteorological Office Training School, Sanmore, Middlesex (Scientific Civil Service). ASO Grade 13-week Course for Meteorological Observers. First out of 16 students in 'Recording Instruments' final examination.

Sep 1977 Awarded British Council/ Italian Government 'Short-term Research Bursary' to Milano, Italy. Studying Leonardo da Vinci's 'Codex Atlantico' in Milan's Ambrosian Library and Museum of Science & Technology. Visit to Leonardo's birthplace in Vinci. Many 'source' photographs of water taken in Switzerland, N.Italy, & S.France.
1980-1982 Awarded Commonwealth Scholarship to attend the University of British Columbia, Canada. Special Travel Allowance granted to visit Art Museums & Galleries in Canada & USA during Summer 1980...'Coast to Coast' 8-week trip accomplishes this.
May 1982 Graduated with MFA (Master of Fine Arts Degree) of UBC Vancouver. Including Thesis 'The Use of Photographs by Canadian Painters During the Past Twelve Years'.
